Begusarai: A mother and her teenage son were killed after coming into contact with a live e-rickshaw parked by the roadside in Darha village, sparking grief and anger during the festive season of Navratri.
The incident occurred on Wednesday near a power pole when Arya Kumar, 15, son of Nandlal Yadav, touched the e-rickshaw, which had apparently become electrified. His mother, Pavitri Devi, rushed to save him but was also fatally shocked. Both died at the scene.
Police from Bakri station arrived at the location, recovered the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem examinations. Locals expressed outrage, blaming the electricity department for negligence that they say led to the tragedy. The family remains in deep mourning.
