Patna: Bihar Government has prepared a new two-night, three-day tourism package connecting Patna, Bodh Gaya, Rajgir and Nalanda, bringing travel, accommodation, meals, trained guides and tourism assistance together in a single itinerary.
The package has been developed under the state’s ‘Brand Bihar’ tourism initiative and is aimed at making it easier for domestic and international visitors to explore some of Bihar’s most important spiritual, historical and cultural destinations within a limited period.
A Three-Day Route Through Bihar
The proposed itinerary begins in Patna and covers Bodh Gaya, Rajgir and Nalanda before returning to Patna.
The package includes transportation, hotel accommodation, meals, trained guides, tourism police assistance and entry fees for major monuments, giving travellers a structured experience without having to arrange each service separately.
Tourism Minister Kedar Prasad Gupta said promoting Bihar’s spiritual, historical and cultural heritage among domestic and international tourists remains a priority for the government.
The package has been designed to allow visitors to experience several major attractions within three days, particularly those travelling to Bihar with limited time.
Day 1: Patna To Bodh Gaya
The journey begins from Patna, with breakfast planned at a designated location before tourists travel to Bodh Gaya.
The first day focuses on the town’s Buddhist heritage. The itinerary includes the Mahabodhi Temple, the sacred Bodhi Tree and the 80-foot Buddha statue.
Visitors will also be taken to Buddhist monasteries and other important sites, including the Archaeological Museum and Sujata Garh.
The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay in Bodh Gaya.
Day 2: Bodh Gaya To Rajgir
On the second day, tourists will travel from Bodh Gaya to Rajgir, another major destination associated with Bihar’s Buddhist and historical heritage.
The itinerary includes visits to the World Peace Pagoda and Ghora Katora. After lunch, visitors will explore attractions including Venu Van, Pandu Pokhar, Son Bhandar, Bimbisara Jail, Maniyar Math and the Cyclopean Wall.
The tour also includes a visit to Rajgir’s hot springs, followed by an evening snack, dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Rajgir To Nalanda
The final day takes tourists from Rajgir to Nalanda, one of the most significant ancient centres of learning in India.
Visitors will explore the ruins of ancient Nalanda University, along with the Nalanda Museum and Xuanzang Memorial Hall.
After lunch, the group will begin its return journey to Patna, completing the three-day circuit.
Travel, Stay And Guides Included
One of the key features of the package is that several essential travel services are being brought together under one arrangement.
Tourists will receive transport, accommodation, meals and trained guide services, while tourism police assistance is also included to support visitors during the journey.
Entry fees for major monuments covered under the itinerary will also be part of the package, allowing tourists to focus on sightseeing rather than arranging individual services at each destination.
Bihar Tourism Push Under ‘Brand Bihar’
The package is part of Bihar’s broader effort to strengthen tourism by presenting the state’s spiritual, historical and cultural attractions as an integrated travel circuit.
By linking Bodh Gaya, Rajgir and Nalanda in a single itinerary starting from Patna, the government aims to make short-duration travel more convenient for visitors.
The three destinations together offer a combination of Buddhist heritage, ancient history, archaeological sites and cultural attractions, giving the package a wide tourism appeal.
The initiative also seeks to position Bihar as a destination where visitors can explore multiple major attractions within a relatively short trip.
