Motihari/Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday inspected the under-construction Tourist Facility Centre at Kesariya in East Champaran and directed officials to expedite work on the project, which is expected to improve amenities for the large number of visitors drawn to the renowned Kesariya Buddhist Stupa.
Reviewing plans at the site, he sought details of the auditorium and other facilities under development. Officials briefed him on the centre’s features, including a 5D theatre with seating for 48 people, a gallery showcasing Buddhist teachings, a Bihar Pavilion on the state’s heritage, educational displays, more than 90 sculptural installations and replicas of major Buddhist monuments to be positioned across the complex.
CM Nitish said the centre would help visitors better understand the history of Buddhism and Bihar’s cultural legacy.
Visit to Kesariya Stupa and health facilities

The Chief Minister also toured the Kesariya Buddhist Stupa complex, asking officials about ongoing maintenance and development efforts. He instructed that the site be kept secure and that tourism facilities receive continuous attention.
Later, at the Health and Wellness Centre in Tajpur village, he assessed the availability of medical services, medicines, cleanliness and vaccination delivery. He spoke with the attending doctor and distributed Ayushman cards to beneficiaries. CM Nitish directed that access roads to the centre be widened to ease travel for patients.
He then interacted with villagers and frontline workers at stalls set up at Tajpur Higher Secondary School, including JEEViKA self-help group members, Anganwadi workers, Mamata workers, Vikas Mitras, Talimi Markaz staff and Tola Sevaks. Kumar encouraged them to continue their work, assuring that their needs were being addressed.
School visits and student interactions

At the Kasturba Gandhi Residential School, the Chief Minister met hostel residents and reviewed their facilities. He urged students to study diligently and inaugurated a new library on the campus.
His visit to the Government Middle School in Kesariya included watching a musical prayer, a science exhibition, sword-fighting demonstrations and sports activities. A dance performance by hearing-impaired girls particularly pleased him. CM Nitish instructed the school administration to strengthen sports and extracurricular resources alongside academics, ensuring that “all the students’ needs are taken care of.”
