Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today announced a major push for job creation and industrial growth in the state, setting an ambitious target of providing employment opportunities to 1 crore youth over the next five years. The move comes after the state government claimed it had successfully fulfilled its previous target of providing jobs and employment to 50 lakh youth under the Saat Nischay-2 programme announced in 2020.
In a statement shared on social media, the Chief Minister said the government is now focusing on strengthening the private sector by offering a special economic package for entrepreneurs to set up industries in Bihar.
Key highlights of the package include:
- Doubling of incentive amounts for capital subsidy, interest subsidy and GST.
- Provision of free land in all districts for industries that generate significant employment.
- Speedy resolution of disputes related to land allotted for industrial projects.
- Priority facilities for entrepreneurs establishing industries within the next six months.
“Bihar’s youth must become skilled, self-reliant and secure in their future. To achieve this, the government is encouraging not just government jobs but also private industries, startups and self-employment opportunities. This package will further boost industrial growth in Bihar,” Nitish Kumar said.
Officials said a detailed notification outlining the provisions will be issued soon. The government believes the initiative will attract private investment, create large-scale employment and help transform Bihar into an emerging industrial hub.
The Chief Minister also reiterated that encouraging entrepreneurship remains a top priority and assured entrepreneurs of “all possible support” to set up businesses in Bihar.
