Patna: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar is expected to begin a tour of districts in the Kosi–Seemanchal region from March 10, during which he will review development work and assess the implementation of government schemes.
According to official sources, the visit is likely to continue until March 13 and will include programmes across several districts of the region. The chief minister is expected to base himself in Madhepura during the tour and travel from there to other districts.
Sources said Nitish is likely to stay in Madhepura for three nights and use the district as a base while attending events and meetings across Kosi and Seemanchal. The visit is also being viewed as part of the government’s “Samrididhi Yatra”, aimed at reviewing ongoing development initiatives and engaging with local communities.
Nitish is expected to arrive in Madhepura on March 10, where he will hold meetings with administrative officials to review the status of development projects in the region. He is also expected to interact with local public representatives and officials to assess work being carried out at the grassroots level.
On March 11, the chief minister is likely to travel by helicopter to districts in the Seemanchal region, including Kishanganj and Araria. During these visits, he is expected to inspect development projects and meet residents to hear their concerns.
Officials indicated that announcements related to new development initiatives could also be made during the visit.
Programmes are also planned for March 12 in Katihar and Purnia districts, where Nitish is expected to review ongoing infrastructure and development projects and receive progress reports from departmental officials.
The final day of the tour, March 13, is expected to include a programme in Saharsa. During this visit, the chief minister may inaugurate or lay the foundation stone for several development projects and hold meetings with local residents and public representatives.
The Kosi and Seemanchal regions are considered important but relatively underdeveloped parts of Bihar. The state government has implemented several initiatives aimed at improving roads, education, healthcare and employment opportunities in the area.
While the detailed schedule of the visit has not yet been officially released, preparations are reportedly under way, with district administrations reviewing arrangements ahead of the tour.
