Patna: The onset of winter is becoming increasingly evident across Bihar, with a more pronounced chill settling in as November draws to a close. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), morning and evening temperatures in Patna and other districts are expected to fall by one to two degrees Celsius over the next two days.
A low-pressure system over the South Andaman Sea is set to influence weather conditions in Bihar by November 27–28, leading to light cloud cover and fluctuating temperatures. The IMD anticipates a more noticeable dip in mercury levels beginning after November 24.

Fog has already begun to disrupt transport, with around 10 trains in the state running behind schedule. Services operating via Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata are reportedly the worst affected.
Weather experts say daytime temperatures will remain largely stable for the next three to four days, with mild sunshine offering some relief. Night-time temperatures, however, are expected to continue falling.
Cold conditions are expected to fully take hold across several districts from November 27–28, although fluctuations in temperature are likely to persist. Afternoon sunlight will ease the chill, but mornings and evenings will grow significantly colder as the influence of northwesterly winds strengthens.

Minimum temperatures in many districts could drop by 2–4°C as dry, cold winds sweep across the region, reinforcing the wintry conditions. On Saturday, Gaya recorded the state’s lowest temperature at 13.2°C, while Forbesganj posted the highest at 30.4°C.
Fog is also expected to intensify in the days ahead, potentially reducing visibility and complicating travel during the early hours.
