Monsoon May Reach Bihar Early

Weather officials said the southwest monsoon is likely to arrive in Bihar earlier than usual this year.

The monsoon typically reaches Bihar between June 12 and June 15, but meteorologists now expect its onset between June 8 and June 10.

Officials also indicated that the monsoon could arrive in Kerala nearly five days ahead of schedule.

Mixed Weather Conditions Across Bihar

Bihar is currently witnessing varied weather conditions, with some districts experiencing intense heat while others receive intermittent rainfall.

The Meteorological Department said cloudy conditions were expected to persist in parts of North Bihar, reducing the likelihood of any major change in maximum or minimum temperatures over the next three to four days.

According to the Meteorological Centre Patna, the following maximum temperatures were recorded on Friday:

  • 41.3°C in Bhabhua
  • 41.1°C in Dehri
  • 38.8°C in Buxar
  • 37.9°C in Rajgir
  • 37.6°C in Gaya
  • 37.5°C in Motihari
  • 37.1°C in Patna
  • 37°C in Valmikinagar
  • 36.9°C in Sheikhpura
  • 35.6°C in Bhagalpur

Officials said weather fluctuations were expected to continue as the monsoon system advanced gradually towards eastern India.
