Patna: St Michael’s High School in Patna marked a milestone on Friday with its first-ever Nursery Annual Concert, a celebration built around the Indian shloka “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” — a message of peace, harmony and collective well-being.
The event opened with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp, symbolising the victory of knowledge over ignorance, before parents, teachers and invited guests. School management — Rector Fr Norbert Menezes, Principal Fr Christu Savarirajan and Vice-Principal Sister Magdali Beck — were credited with providing the guidance and support that made the inaugural concert possible. Staff said their focus on holistic, child-centred education helped create a nurturing stage for the youngest learners.

Performances highlight empathy, unity and environmental care
Nursery students presented an array of dances, songs and brief theatrical pieces that reflected themes of compassion, togetherness and shared joy. The stage was set with vibrant costumes and colourful backdrops, with each act designed to convey values linked to the concert’s theme, including kindness, environmental responsibility and respect for others.
Vice-Principal Sister Magdali Beck addressed the audience, praising the efforts of both students and teachers and emphasising the importance of nurturing empathy and global harmony from early childhood.

Parents said they were delighted to see their children perform with confidence, describing the event as a memorable moment for families and the school community.
A message beyond the stage

The concert concluded with a vote of thanks acknowledging the contributions of staff, students and families. School leaders said the event was not only a cultural showcase but also a reminder of the collective responsibility to spread goodwill and happiness within the community and beyond.
