Patna: The Bihar Home Department announced a major reshuffle on Thursday, transferring six Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and 26 Bihar Police Service (BPS) officers—commonly known as DSPs—and posting them across various subdivisions in the state. Several eye-catching appointments of SDPOs were also part of the reorganisation.
Among the notable changes:
- Mohibullah Ansari (2021 batch IPS) has been reassigned from SDPO‑1 to become SDPO‑2 (law and order) in Patna city.
- Shailja (2022 batch IPS) has been transferred from Additional SP in Vaishali to take over as SDPO‑1 in Hilsa (Nalanda).
- Sanket Kumar, serving as Additional SP in Saran, is now SDPO in Bikramganj (Rohtas).
- Garima (2022 batch IPS) moves from ASP in Muzaffarpur to become SDPO in Saraiya.
- Sakshi Kumari, previously ASP in Begusarai, has been posted as SDPO in Balia.
- Komal Meena (2023 batch IPS) has moved from ASP in Darbhanga to take charge as SDPO‑1 in Masaurhi (Patna).
The transfer list also includes a full roster of the 26 BPS officers, identified mainly with new SDPO and Additional SP posts across diverse subdivisions. Notable appointments include:
- Sahariyar Akhtar – Additional SP, Rajgir Police Academy
- Sunita Kumari – SDPO, PUPARI (Sitamarhi)
- Polast Kumar – SDPO, Dumraon (Buxar)
- Premchand Singh – Additional SP, BIVISP‑U‑16 (Patna)
- Sumit Kumar – Senior DSP, Rajgir Police Academy
- Rajesh Kumar – SDPO, Jhaja (Jamui)
- Jyoti Shankar – SDPO‑1, Purnia Sadar
- Kumar Rishiraj – SDPO‑2, Hilsa (Nalanda)
- Rajesh Kumar – Rail DSP, Muzaffarpur
…among others.
The two separate notifications issued by the Home Department formalised the changes. While immediate reactions from officials were not reported, such high-level internal shifts are common ahead of heightened security needs and potentially in light of upcoming political cycles.
