Patna: South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) has announced a series of measures to ensure uninterrupted and safe electricity supply at Gurudwaras during Prakash Parv Mahotsav 2025, scheduled to be observed from 25 to 28 December.
According to the power utility, comprehensive directives have been issued to officials to carry out maintenance of electrical lines and substations in areas surrounding Gurudwaras, to prevent accidents during the festival period, when large crowds are expected.
SBPDCL said that worn-out and damaged power lines would be replaced, while loose wires in crowded areas would be tightened. Additional safety measures will be implemented for overhead power lines to minimise the risk of electrical hazards.
The utility will also assess the capacity of distribution transformers supplying electricity to Gurudwaras to ensure they can handle increased demand. Temporary power connections will be provided for pandals in accordance with safety norms, including maintaining safe distances from power lines.
Power substations will undergo preventive maintenance, and faulty equipment will be repaired or replaced ahead of the celebrations, officials said.
To ensure rapid response to any disruption, SBPDCL will deploy special teams of engineers and electrical personnel in high-footfall areas throughout the festival. Emergency materials and equipment have been kept on standby to address any breakdowns without delay.
The company said the arrangements reflect its commitment to public safety and to providing a reliable power supply for devotees attending Prakash Parv Mahotsav events across south Bihar.
