Patna: East Central Railway operated 26 special trains across Bihar on Wednesday to facilitate the movement of candidates appearing for the second phase of the Prohibition Constable Recruitment Examination.
A large number of aspirants arrived at Patna Junction and Pataliputra Junction on Tuesday to travel to their designated examination centres. Railway officials said special train services were arranged to manage the increased passenger load and ensure smooth travel.
Special Trains Operated Across Bihar
The special services connected several districts, including Patna, Gaya, Buxar, Kiul, Rajgir, Bettiah, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Saharsa, Purnia, Supaul and Aurangabad.
Among the services operated were Patna–Gaya, Buxar–Danapur, Kiul–Gaya, Bakhtiyarpur–Rajgir, Bettiah–Hajipur, Muzaffarpur–Pataliputra, Samastipur–Siwan, Purnia Court–Pataliputra and Supaul–Deoghar special trains.
Railway officials said the services were scheduled throughout the day to help candidates reach examination centres and return home after the test.
Security Increased at Major Stations
Security arrangements were strengthened at key railway stations following the unrest and stone-pelting incident reported at Pataliputra Junction earlier this week.
Under heightened security, candidates boarded trains without any major disruption. Patna Junction witnessed the highest footfall among all stations in the Danapur division.
150 Additional Personnel Deployed
Railway authorities deployed 150 additional police personnel across the Danapur division on the instructions of East Central Railway.
The deployment covered major stations, including Patna, Pataliputra, Ara, Buxar, Rajgir and Bakhtiyarpur. Officials said security personnel would remain on duty throughout the examination period.
The operation was supervised by Danapur Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) and RPF Commandant Uday Singh Pawar.
Dedicated Control Room Monitoring Situation
A dedicated control room has been set up in Danapur to monitor railway operations and passenger movement during the examination period.
Officials said CCTV cameras are being used for round-the-clock surveillance, while security teams have been instructed to respond immediately to any suspicious activity reported at stations.
