Bihar Government Schools to Hold Quarterly Exams for Classes 1 To 8 from July 7

SCERT has issued the examination timetable, with written tests for Classes 3 to 8 and oral assessments for Classes 1 and 2.

Patna: Quarterly examinations for students of Classes 1 to 8 in Bihar’s government schools will begin on July 7 and continue until July 13, according to the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT).

SCERT has released the examination schedule and directed schools across the state to conduct the assessments according to the prescribed timetable.

Exams To Be Held In Two Shifts

According to SCERT, the examinations will be conducted in two daily shifts.

The first shift will be held from 10 am to 12 pm, while the second shift will run from 1 pm to 3 pm. Schools have been instructed to follow the schedule issued by the council.

Oral Assessment For Classes 1 And 2

Students in Classes 1 and 2 will not appear for written examinations.

Instead, their class teachers will assess them through oral examinations in line with the assessment guidelines issued by SCERT.

Written Tests For Classes 3 To 8

Students from Classes 3 to 8 will appear for subject-wise written examinations.

Assessment in Art, Computer Science and Physical Education will be conducted separately at the school level using a grading system, according to the council.

Question Papers Through e-Shikshakosh

SCERT said question papers will be made available online through the e-Shikshakosh portal.

Schools will download the papers and conduct the examinations as per the official schedule.

Mid-Day Meals To Continue

The state government has clarified that the PM Poshan Yojana will continue during the examination period.

Schools have been directed to ensure that students receive their mid-day meals on schedule throughout the examinations.
