Patna: A total of 1,025 Agniveers of the Bihar Regiment were formally inducted into the Indian Army on Sunday after successfully completing 24 weeks of military training under the Agnipath scheme.
The recruits participated in a passing-out parade at the Bihar Regimental Centre, where they demonstrated military drill, discipline and operational readiness before senior army officials, family members and invited guests.
Oath of service and commitment
During the ceremony, the newly trained soldiers took an oath to safeguard the sovereignty, unity and security of the nation. The oath was administered by Lieutenant Colonel Ankur Kumar Mishra.
The Agniveers pledged their allegiance while placing their hands on the Bhagavad Gita, Quran, Guru Granth Sahib and Bible, reflecting the armed forces’ tradition of unity in diversity.

Senior Army officer reviews parade
Major General Jai Singh Bainsla, Colonel of the Bihar Regiment and Additional Director General of the Assam Rifles, attended the event as the chief guest and reviewed the parade.
Addressing the recruits, he congratulated them on completing their training and highlighted the Indian Army’s traditions of courage, sacrifice and discipline. He urged the Agniveers to uphold their oath and perform their duties with dedication and commitment to national service.
Families honoured during ceremony
The event was attended by parents and family members of the recruits, many of whom witnessed the culmination of months of rigorous training.
As a mark of recognition for their support and contribution, parents of the Agniveers were presented with ‘Gaurav Medals’ during the ceremony.
Military officers and other dignitaries present at the event praised the recruits for their discipline, drill performance and overall training standards.
Outstanding Agniveers receive awards
Several recruits were honoured for exceptional performance during training:
- Best in Firing Medal: Agniveer Dayaram Chicham (Golf Company) for securing the highest marks in firing.
- Best in Physical Training Medal: Agniveer Nimal Nagesina (Golf Company) for outstanding physical fitness performance.
- Best in Drill Medal: Agniveer Gulab Dhurve (Golf Company) for achieving the highest score in drill.
- Best Recruit of the Batch: Agniveer Gulab Dhurve was declared the best recruit of the batch for excellence across all training parameters.
The passing-out parade marked the successful completion of training for the seventh batch of Agniveers of the Bihar Regiment and their transition into active military service.
