Patna: In a major administrative decision, the Road Construction Department has promoted 27 executive engineers to the post of superintending engineer. The decision was taken during a screening committee meeting held on February 11. Following the meeting, the department issued an official notification on 19 February confirming the promotions. All the officers have been given acting charge of the higher post along with the corresponding pay scale.
Officials said the promotions were approved after reviewing the service records and eligibility of the engineers. By moving to the post of superintending engineer, the officers will now take on greater responsibilities. They will supervise large-scale road projects, monitor construction work across divisions and ensure that projects are completed on time. The department plays a key role in developing and maintaining roads across Bihar, and these promotions are expected to improve administrative efficiency.
The engineers who have been promoted include Indrajit Kumar Arya, Shailendra Bharti, Pramod Kumar and Rana Prabhash Chandra. Others on the list are Jitendra Prasad, Tarkeshwar Kumar, Virendra Kumar Singh, Anjani Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Anil Kumar Singh and Prabhat Kumar. Rakesh Kumar, Sushil Kumar Jha, Ravi Verma and Shashi Bhushan Singh have also been elevated to the higher rank.
The remaining officers promoted are Arvind Prasad Gupta, Khurshid Karim, Mithilesh Kumar Chaudhary, Neetu Mani, Reji Singh, Seema Rani, Sanju Kumari, Ruby Rani, Alok Kumar Thakur, Abhay Kumar, Deepesh Kumar and Arvind Kumar. With these promotions, the department is expected to strengthen supervision and speed up ongoing and upcoming road projects across the state, ensuring better connectivity and smoother transport for the public.
