Patna: The Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education today convened a crucial meeting, chaired by Department Secretary Dr. Pratima, to ensure the seamless integration and safety of newly admitted students in government engineering colleges and polytechnic institutes across Bihar. The primary objective was to facilitate their smooth adjustment and familiarize them with institutional rules and regulations.
During the session, a strong emphasis was placed on preventing any inconvenience for new students regarding essential facilities such as hostels, mess services, libraries, and laboratories. Dr. Pratima issued clear directives that students must be thoroughly informed about every aspect of their respective institutes. Furthermore, she stressed the importance of providing them with comprehensive information about all relevant digital portals, enabling them to access necessary support and register any complaints effectively.
Strict Directives Against Ragging and Enhanced Surveillance
A key focus of the meeting was the absolute prohibition of ragging. Secretary Dr. Pratima issued strict instructions to all Assistant Directors present to maintain vigilant oversight to prevent any incidents of ragging involving new students. She also mandated a thorough review of CCTV camera installations in every institute and hostel, ensuring that all cameras are not only present but also fully functional.
The important meeting was also attended by Mr. Ahmed Mahmood, Additional Secretary cum Director, Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education, alongside the Assistant Directors.
