Patna: Shubham Kumar from Bihar has emerged as one of the country’s top performers in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026, achieving a 100 percentile and standing out as the only student from the state among the twelve national toppers.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the results of the first session of JEE Main on Monday. The exam, conducted from January 21 to 29 in computer-based mode, saw participation from over 1.35 million students across India.
This year’s list of top scorers shows a notable absence of female students. Rajasthan led with three toppers, while Andhra Pradesh had two. Other high achievers include Shreyas Mishra from Delhi, Bhavesh Patra from Odisha, Anay Jain from Haryana, Madhav Viradia from Maharashtra, Purohit Nimay from Gujarat, and Vivaan Sharad Maheshwari from Telangana.
Candidates who wish to improve their scores can appear for the second session of the exam, scheduled from April 2 to 9.
The NTA had earlier released the provisional answer key on February 4, allowing candidates to submit objections until February 6 at a fee of Rs 200 per challenge. Results can be accessed via the official website, www.jeemain.nta.nic.in.
