Patna: The State Health Society in Bihar has released a merit list for 4,954 candidates selected for Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) posts, paving the way for appointments across government health facilities in the state.
The recruitment process was conducted for 5,006 contractual vacancies under the National Health Mission (NHM), with thousands of candidates participating. Officials said the shortlisted candidates will be posted to hospitals across different districts in the coming weeks.
According to the Society, district-wise vacancy details have already been compiled to expedite the appointment process and ensure timely deployment of staff.
The ANM appointments are expected to strengthen maternal and child healthcare services, particularly in rural and underserved areas, where staffing gaps have been a persistent challenge.
In a separate development, the health department has also issued transfer and posting orders for six dentists belonging to the Bihar Dental Service Cadre, along with 12 specialist and general practitioners who were awaiting deployment after completing their studies or tenure.
Officials said the doctors have been assigned to state dispensaries, primary health centres (PHCs) and sadar hospitals, while dentists will serve at community health centres (CHCs) and medical colleges across the state.
