Patna: Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit conducted an inspection of the Tajpur-Bakhtiyarpur four-lane road project on Thursday, urging officials to complete the long-delayed route and open it to the public at the earliest.
The project, whose foundation stone was laid by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in 2011, has seen partial progress. The stretch from Tajpur to Chalalshahi is now fully operational, while construction continues on the remaining section from Chalalshahi to Mohanpur, near the Ganga Bridge, and onwards to Bakhtiyarpur.
During his visit, He inspected the completed section, assessed construction quality, and provided guidance to the officials on accelerating work. “The unfinished stretch from Chalalshahi to Bakhtiyarpur must be completed as soon as possible,” he said, emphasising the importance of timely delivery for public convenience.
The inspection was attended by senior officials, including BSRDC Managing Director Kapil Ashok, National Highways engineers, the district magistrate, police officers, and representatives from the road construction department. Security was tight, with a significant police presence at the site.
The Chief Secretary arrived at the project by helicopter and later travelled along the route by road. Officials hope that his visit will catalyse faster progress, bringing the project closer to completion and improving transportation along this vital corridor.
