Patna: Teachers in Bihar launched a digital campaign on social media platform X on Sunday, demanding the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission’s actual pay matrix and the resolution of alleged salary disparities.
The campaign, centred on the demand for the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) benefits, began in the morning and was reported to be trending on X by around 11am.
Teachers participating in the campaign said that despite being granted the status of state employees, they were yet to receive the full benefits associated with the Seventh Pay Commission.
Demand For Implementation By Teachers’ Day
Teacher leader Anand Kaushal Singh urged the state government to take an early decision on the issue.
He said teachers hoped that Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary would take note of their concerns and consider implementing the revised pay structure by September 5, observed as Teachers’ Day.
Singh also appealed to the chief minister and the education minister to address the matter at the earliest.
Teachers Raise Questions Over Pay Disparity
Singh said teachers were not seeking special privileges but were demanding what they considered their rightful entitlements and recognition.
He questioned why other government officials and public representatives continued to receive their salaries while teachers faced what he described as unequal treatment over their pay structure.
Teachers have demanded the implementation of the actual 7th CPC pay matrix and the restoration of the earlier pay scale, according to the campaign’s stated demands.
Campaign Taken To Social Media
Teachers used posts and online campaigns on X to draw the government’s attention to the issue.
They argued that since they had already been accorded state employee status, discrepancies related to their pay structure should also be resolved without delay.
The digital campaign reflects growing pressure from sections of Bihar’s teaching community for a clear government decision on the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission-related provisions.
