Patna: Patna is celebrating a moment of pride after young dancer Trisha Bhattacharya was selected for a prestigious national scholarship in Bharatanatyam. The scholarship has been awarded under the Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme 2025–26, run by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Her selection places her among a small group of young artists from across the country who have shown strong potential in classical arts.
The selection process for this scheme is conducted by a Regional Selection Committee, which evaluates young performers based on their skill, dedication, and training. Only a limited number of students are chosen every year, making it a highly competitive achievement. Trisha’s success reflects her consistent hard work and long hours of practice in classical dance from a young age.
A special highlight of her achievement is that she is the only student selected from Bihar in the Bharatanatyam category this year. This has brought special recognition to the state’s cultural talent and has been welcomed with pride by teachers and the local artistic community. Many see it as an important moment for encouraging more young students in Bihar to take up classical dance forms.
Trisha is currently studying in Class 8 at Notre Dame Academy in Patna. Along with her academic studies, she has been training in Bharatanatyam under the guidance of Guru Sudipa Bose. Her training follows the traditional guru–shishya system, where discipline, regular practice, and attention to detail play a major role in learning the art form.
Her teachers and mentors have praised her dedication and focus at such a young age. They say her ability to balance school education with demanding dance practice shows maturity and strong discipline. Her school has also expressed happiness over her achievement, calling it a proud moment for the institution.
Trisha’s achievement is being seen as an inspiration for other young students in Bihar. It highlights how dedication and proper guidance can help students achieve national recognition even at an early age. Cultural experts believe her success may encourage more children to explore classical dance and help strengthen Bihar’s presence in India’s cultural field.
