Online admissions process begins
Patna University will open applications for its 4,200 undergraduate seats from Sunday. The application window will remain open until May 30.
Patliputra University is also set to begin accepting online applications for undergraduate admissions from Monday. However, the university has not yet announced the final date for submission of forms.
Patliputra University increases intake capacity
PPU has increased its undergraduate intake capacity to around 1.25 lakh seats this year, up from approximately 1.10 lakh seats in previous years.
The university registrar, Abu Bakar Rizvi, said the increase followed the addition of 16 new affiliated colleges.
āThe university traditionally admitted students against nearly 1.10 lakh seats every year, but the addition of 16 new colleges has increased the total number of seats this session,ā Rizvi said.
Reservation policy clarified for vacant seats
University authorities said vacant seats reserved for specific categories in undergraduate courses would be reallocated to candidates from other categories in accordance with the reservation roster system.
Officials said the policy would apply across all subjects and departments. If seats under a particular reserved category remain vacant in any subject, eligible candidates from other categories would be considered for admission.
