Patna: The Bihar State Election Commission has released a detailed schedule for the revision of electoral rolls ahead of elections and by-elections in eight urban local bodies across Bihar.
The draft voter list was published on Wednesday, marking the beginning of the verification and correction process for voters.
Claims and objections window open
Voters have been given an opportunity to verify their names and personal details and submit claims or objections if required.
According to the schedule:
- Claims and objections can be filed from April 15 to April 24
- Voters can apply to add, delete or correct entries in the electoral roll using prescribed forms
Officials said the process is aimed at ensuring accuracy and inclusivity in the voter list.
Verification and disposal timeline
The commission has set April 17 to May 4 for the disposal of claims and objections.
Concerned administrative officials have been assigned responsibility to process applications within the stipulated timeframe.
The finalisation of the electoral roll will take place between May 3 and May 12.
Final voter list on May 13
The final voter list is scheduled to be published on May 13, 2026.
The draft rolls have been made available at urban local body offices, ward-level centres and other designated public locations to facilitate easy access for voters.
Push for maximum participation
Officials said efforts are being made to ensure that maximum voters verify their details, with information being disseminated through local authorities and public outreach.
The revision exercise is a crucial step in preparing updated electoral rolls ahead of upcoming local body polls in the state.
