Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Monday launched the Bihar Vidya Saathi, a 24×7 interactive digital learning platform for 700 Saraswati Vidya Niketan model schools across the state.
The platform was launched through video conferencing from the Sankalp auditorium at Lok Sevak Awas. The government said the initiative aims to provide students with academic guidance and access to teachers whenever they need assistance.
3 Lakh Students To Benefit
In its first phase, the platform has been introduced in 700 model schools across all 38 districts of Bihar. Around 3 lakh students are expected to benefit directly from the initiative.
Students in classes 9 to 12 will be able to access live teachers throughout the day. The platform will allow students to select teachers based on their academic requirements and interact with them individually to resolve their queries.
75,000 Teachers To Provide Academic Support
Around 75,000 teachers will be involved in providing personalised academic assistance through Bihar Vidya Saathi.
Students in classes 9 and 10 will receive support across subjects. For students in the science stream of classes 11 and 12, the platform will offer live tutoring and digital study material aimed at preparation for the Bihar Board examinations as well as competitive exams such as JEE and NEET.
AI Tools To Support Conceptual Learning
The Chief Minister said modern artificial intelligence tools would be used to further strengthen students’ conceptual understanding.
The platform will also provide students with facilities for continuous study and practice. The government plans to assess the initiative’s performance before expanding it to more schools across Bihar.
Choudhary urged students to use the platform to strengthen their academic knowledge and skills.
“Our endeavour is to ensure that wherever students are and whenever they study, they have access to answers for their questions and support from teachers,” he said.
Students Demonstrate App
A short film showcasing the Bihar Vidya Saathi app was screened during the launch event.
Students Janhvi and Jiya from Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, demonstrated how to use the application and explained its features and benefits.
The students also thanked the Chief Minister for the initiative.
Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Education Department Secretary Rajiv Roshan and Bihar School Examination Board Chairman Dr Thiyagarajan S.M., among other senior officials, attended the event.
