Bihar Weather Alert on Raksha Bandhan: Orange Alert in 21 Districts, Rain and Thunderstorms Likely

Patna: Bihar is likely to experience unsettled weather during the Raksha Bandhan festival on August 28, with rain, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds forecast across several districts.

Yellow Alert across 16 districts

A Yellow Alert has been issued for Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Kaimur, Aurangabad, Jamui, Munger, Khagaria, Saharsa, Madhepura, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar and Bhagalpur.

Rain, thunderstorms and strong winds may affect these areas as well.

The weather is expected to remain unsettled in several parts of Bihar on August 29, the day after Raksha Bandhan.

An Orange Alert will remain in effect for West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Patna, Begusarai, Arwal, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Nawada and Gaya.

Rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning is likely in these districts.

The Yellow Alert on August 29 covers Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Kaimur, Aurangabad, Jamui, Munger, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Banka, Saharsa, Madhepura, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia and Katihar.

Weather likely to improve on August 30

Weather conditions are expected to improve across most parts of Bihar on August 30.

No weather warning has been issued for West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Patna, Begusarai, Arwal, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Nawada and Gaya.

However, a Yellow Alert remains in place for Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Kaimur, Aurangabad, Khagaria, Munger, Lakhisarai, Jamui, Banka, Bhagalpur, Purnia and Katihar, where rain and thunderstorms may occur.

With rain and lightning forecast during the festival, people are advised to remain cautious, particularly during thunderstorms and strong winds.
