Patna: The wife of an IPS officer was hospitalised in Patna on Thursday after she allegedly consumed poison, with preliminary information suggesting a family dispute may have preceded the incident.
According to hospital sources, she was brought to IGIMS Hospital in a police vehicle at around 7:30pm. The driver of the police vehicle admitted her to the hospital, following which doctors immediately began treatment.
She remained under treatment at IGIMS for around two hours before being shifted to a private hospital near Danapur-Saguna Mor for further medical care.
Family dispute suspected
Preliminary information indicates that a family dispute may have been the reason behind the incident. However, the specific nature or cause of the dispute has not yet been established.
The hospital administration informed the police about the incident, following which an investigation was initiated.
