Patna: Temperatures dropped across 15 districts of Bihar on Tuesday, including the capital, as dry conditions persisted under the influence of westerly winds. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said fluctuations in temperature are likely to continue this week, with no major shift expected in overall weather patterns.
Daytime sunshine has brought a mild warmth, while mornings and evenings remain noticeably cool. According to the meteorological centre in Patna, the western disturbance currently affecting the Himalayan region is expected to become active around March 2. This could lead to partly cloudy skies in parts of Bihar, though significant rainfall is not anticipated.
On Tuesday, Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 28.9C, slightly lower than previous days. The highest temperature in the state was reported in Kaimur district at 31.8C, while the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Jiradei, Siwan, at 13.1C. The minimum temperature in Patna stood at 17.6C, with statewide lows ranging between 13.1C and 18.1C.
Meteorologists noted that daytime temperatures across Bihar are currently oscillating between 27C and 30C, while night-time readings remain in the 15C to 18C range. Light fog is possible during early mornings and evenings in some areas.
In major cities, Bhagalpur recorded a maximum of 29.6C and a minimum of 17.0C, while Muzaffarpur saw 27.4C and 16.0C respectively. Gaya registered a maximum of 28.8C and a minimum of 15.0C, making it the coldest night among the reported locations.
The IMD said residents should expect continued dry weather with intermittent cloud cover but no immediate signs of a prolonged cold spell or significant precipitation. Weather conditions are likely to remain stable over the coming days, with minor temperature variations.
