Patna: Bihar continued their impressive run in the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy Plate with a comprehensive 159-run victory over Mizoram at the KIIT Cricket Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Thursday. The win marked Bihar’s fourth consecutive triumph in the tournament, underlining their growing momentum in the competition.
After winning the toss and opting to bat, Bihar recovered from an early setback to post 242 for six in their allotted 50 overs. The innings was anchored by Vaidehi Yadav, who struck a measured 51 from 76 balls, stabilising the middle order. Yashita Singh added fluency with a well-compiled 57 off 80 deliveries, while wicketkeeper Shruti chipped in with 29 from 31 balls to keep the scoreboard moving.
The late surge came from Harshita, whose unbeaten 39 off 25 balls provided the acceleration Bihar needed in the closing overs. Her knock ensured the side crossed the 240 mark, setting Mizoram a challenging target on a surface that offered assistance to disciplined bowlers.
Mizoram’s chase never gathered momentum. Facing tight lines and consistent pressure, they were bowled out for 83 in 42 overs. Fel Fel Pautu top-scored with 27, while Zotan Sangi contributed 16, but the rest of the batting order struggled to counter Bihar’s attack.
Apoorva led the bowling effort with a miserly spell of three for 10 in seven overs, including five maidens, effectively breaking the backbone of Mizoram’s innings. Rachna Singh returned figures of one for eight in six overs, while P. Priya claimed two for 20. Vaidehi Yadav capped off her all-round performance with one for 20, and Khushbu C. Kumari also picked up a wicket to complete the rout.
Vaidehi Yadav was named Player of the Match for her contributions with both bat and ball. The Bihar Cricket Association congratulated the team and support staff, praising their discipline and collective effort. With four straight wins, Bihar will now look to carry their form into their upcoming fixture against Sikkim.
