Patna : The administration has banned new construction and plantation within 100 metres of the outer perimeter of Bihta Air Force Station in Patna district, citing security requirements around the defence establishment. The Bihta Circle Office has issued a public notice directing landowners and local residents to comply with the restrictions.
Under the directive, new buildings, boundary walls and other structures cannot be constructed within the designated zone. Planting new trees and other vegetation is also prohibited. The restrictions are intended to regulate activities around the air force station and maintain the security of the installation.
The administration has advised landowners whose plots fall within the restricted area to verify the applicable rules before undertaking any construction or plantation work.
Works Of Defence Act, 2003 Cited In Notice
The public notice refers to Sections 3(2) and 7 of the Works of Defence Act, 2003, along with the Government of India’s Gazette notification dated March 3, 2007, bearing SRO No. 12.
The administration has cited these legal provisions as the basis for imposing restrictions on construction and plantation within the specified area. The restricted zone extends 100 metres from the station’s outer perimeter, according to the notice.
The directive applies to activities covered by the restrictions within the designated area. Landowners are expected to establish whether their properties fall within the notified boundary before starting any work.
New Buildings, Walls And Plantation Prohibited
The restrictions cover the construction of new buildings, boundary walls and other structures. Plantation activities are also prohibited within the 100-metre zone.
The administration has asked property owners and other concerned residents to take note of the restrictions and follow the instructions issued by the Bihta Circle Office.
Any construction or other activity undertaken in violation of the applicable restrictions may invite legal action in accordance with the law. Residents planning construction near the air force station have therefore been advised to seek clarification from the circle office about the exact boundary and the rules applicable to their plots.
Security Measures Around Bihta Air Force Station
Bihta Air Force Station is an important defence establishment in Patna district. Regulating construction and other activities around the installation forms part of the measures aimed at maintaining security in its vicinity.
Through the public notice, the administration has sought to inform local residents and landowners about the prohibited activities and prevent unauthorised construction within the designated area.
The restrictions make it important for property owners to confirm the status of their land before undertaking any development work. Those planning to construct buildings or plant trees near the station should consult the Bihta Circle Office to determine whether their plots fall within the restricted zone and understand the applicable requirements.
