Patna: Police have registered a case in Bihta after an ex-serviceman alleged that money was collected from around 69 personnel on the promise of providing land, followed by irregularities in the registration process.
The case was registered at Amhara police station on the basis of a complaint filed by ex-serviceman Raghavendra Kumar. Police are examining land records, registration documents and financial transactions related to the alleged deal.
Land Promised To 69 Ex-Servicemen
According to the complaint, the ex-servicemen were assured land through Sainik Welfare Organization India Limited. The complaint names the organisation’s chairman, Lieutenant Colonel Rakesh Rana, and Captain Arjun Kumar Singh as partners.
Kumar alleged that the personnel were first shown the land before money was collected from them. He claimed that fraudulent documents were subsequently used during the registration process.
The complaint alleges that transactions involving the land ran into crores of rupees. However, the exact amount involved has not yet been established by the police.
Police Examine Land And Financial Records
Investigators are examining the ownership of the land, the manner in which the registrations were carried out and the parties involved in the financial transactions.
Police are also verifying the documents submitted in connection with the alleged registrations to determine whether any irregularities or fraudulent activity took place.
Arrests To Follow Investigation
Danapur SDPO-2 Amarendra Kumar Jha said late Tuesday night that the investigation was underway and that legal action, including arrests, would be taken against those found involved.
Police officials have directed the concerned team to take necessary action based on the findings of the investigation.
The allegations are currently under investigation. The exact financial loss and the role of individual persons or organisations will be established after the relevant records and transactions are examined.
