Jehanabad/Patna: Bird flu has been confirmed in the Police Line area of Jehanabad following the sudden deaths of six crows a few days ago. Samples of the deceased birds were sent to Kolkata for testing, where the presence of avian influenza was confirmed.

Dr. Vinay Kumar of the Animal Husbandry Department stated that investigations are underway at nearby poultry farms, with samples being collected and sent for analysis. He urged the public to remain vigilant and report any instances of sudden bird deaths to the department immediately.

“If any bird suddenly dies anywhere, then immediately inform the Animal Husbandry Department,” Dr. Kumar emphasized. He assured the public that there is no need to panic, as the virus primarily affects birds.

As a precautionary measure, authorities have advised chicken consumers to ensure that meat is thoroughly cooked before consumption. Additionally, residents are urged to maintain cleanliness in areas where animals and birds are present, as unsanitary conditions can contribute to the spread of the virus.

The local administration has taken proactive steps to sanitize the trees within the police line premises.
