The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is preparing a dedicated outreach programme aimed at connecting with Gen Z and young voters, particularly those who will be voting for the first time.
The initiative is expected to focus on direct engagement with young people and understanding their views on employment, education, technology, start-ups, artificial intelligence and digital opportunities.
The party is also working on a strategy to incorporate the concerns and aspirations of the younger generation into its organisational and political agenda.
Nitin Nabin-Led Team to Lead Youth Engagement
A special team has been constituted to work on the Gen Z outreach initiative. The team includes Nitin Nabin, along with BJP national general secretaries Smriti Irani and Vinod Tawde.
Gujarat Minister Harsh Sanghavi and Chhattisgarh Minister OP Choudhary are also part of the team.
The combination of experienced organisational leaders and younger faces is intended to help the BJP build a broader connection with Gen Z across different parts of the country.
Focus on First-Time Voters
First-time voters are expected to be a major focus of the campaign. With a growing number of young people entering the electorate, political parties are increasingly seeking to understand the issues shaping their political preferences.
The BJP’s proposed outreach is expected to address concerns related to careers, jobs, education, entrepreneurship, technology and opportunities in the digital economy.
Employment, Start-ups and AI on the Agenda
The proposed programme could include interactive sessions, discussions and other activities aimed at providing young people with opportunities to directly communicate their views.
Employment and career opportunities are expected to remain central themes, while start-ups, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are also likely to receive attention.
The party is looking to engage with students, young professionals, entrepreneurs and digitally active youth as part of the wider outreach effort.
BJP Strengthens Digital and Youth Organisation
The Gen Z strategy comes alongside organisational changes in the BJP’s youth and digital wings.
The party has appointed Deepak Mhaske of Chhattisgarh to head its Information Technology department, replacing Amit Malviya.
Meanwhile, Hemang Joshi of Gujarat has been appointed president of the BJP Yuva Morcha, succeeding Lok Sabha MP Tejasvi Surya.
These changes are being viewed as part of the party’s broader effort to strengthen its connection with young people and expand its presence in the digital space.
Detailed Gen Z Roadmap Expected
A detailed roadmap for the Gen Z outreach programme is expected to be announced, outlining proposed activities, state-level programmes and formats for direct interaction with young people.
The party is also discussing preparations for upcoming Assembly elections, booth-level organisational strengthening and communication of government schemes.
The proposed Gen Z initiative signals the BJP’s effort to build sustained engagement with a generation whose political participation is expected to grow significantly in the coming years.
