Khagaria: Political tensions escalated in Khagaria on Friday after BJP leader Dilip Kumar (56) was critically injured in a targeted gun attack. The incident occurred in Labh village, Gangaur police station area, where unidentified assailants opened fire, hitting Kumar near his chest.
Kumar, a former BJP general secretary and current member of the Mandal Working Committee, reportedly called his wife immediately after the attack, saying, “We have been shot.” He was quickly rushed to the Sadar Hospital, Khagaria, and later referred to a larger medical facility for intensive care due to the severity of his injuries.
The attack took place near Tribhuwan Tola Pulia, Bishanpur Mor, where Kumar had arrived on official work. Locals described scenes of panic as bystanders assisted the injured leader and alerted authorities.
Police Response
Gangaur police station officer, Sundar Paswan, said: “The victim has not provided a statement yet. He is under treatment. Investigation is ongoing, and action will be taken.” Authorities are attempting to identify and apprehend the assailants.
