Patna: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will focus on recruiting youth and women from non-political backgrounds as part of its 46th foundation day programmes, with an emphasis on expanding its grassroots presence through village-level outreach.
Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saraogi said the foundation day should be seen as “an occasion for introspection and renewed resolve” rather than a ceremonial event, adding that the party aimed to ensure “maximum participation” from young people and women.
As part of the planned activities between April 6 and 12, party workers will conduct door-to-door campaigns to publicise central and state government welfare schemes, which the party says are intended to strengthen its organisational base at the local level.
The programme will begin with office decorations from April 5 to 7, followed by a “Vikas Yatra” on April 6. Foundation day celebrations will be held at booth level across the state.
District-level conferences of active members are scheduled for April 8 and 9, where discussions will focus on organisational expansion, electoral performance and public outreach strategies.
From April 7 to 12, the party will also run a “Gaon Basti Chalo Abhiyan”, under which events will be organised in 50 villages in each assembly constituency. The initiative is aimed at increasing contact with rural communities and promoting awareness of government schemes.
Alongside the outreach activities, the party has also planned cleanliness drives in public spaces, as well as felicitation programmes for veteran workers and engagement with prominent citizens.
