Patna: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has increased the number of vacancies under the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4.0) by 932 posts, taking the total number of school teacher positions to 32,388.
According to the latest notification, 493 additional posts have been added for secondary schools, while 439 more posts have been added for higher secondary schools.
Applications for TRE-4 have been open since September 25 and will remain open until October 26.
More Posts For Classes 9–12
The number of vacancies for Classes 9–10 has increased from 3,877 to 4,370, an addition of 493 posts.
For Classes 11–12, the number of posts has risen from 16,101 to 16,540, adding another 439 vacancies.
The recruitment drive will also cover 3,847 posts for Classes 1–5 and 8,563 posts for Classes 6–8.

Eligibility Criteria
For teaching positions in Classes 1–5, candidates must have qualified CTET Paper-1 or BTET Paper-1.
Candidates applying for Classes 6–8 must have qualified CTET Paper-2 or BTET Paper-2.
For Classes 9–10, qualifying in STET Paper-1 is mandatory, while candidates seeking teaching positions for Classes 11–12 must have qualified STET Paper-2.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit for applicants is 37 years.
The upper age limit is 40 years for candidates belonging to the Backward Classes/Extremely Backward Classes, both male and female, as well as unreserved women candidates.
For SC and ST candidates, the maximum age limit is 42 years for both men and women.
