Patna: The delay in issuing the BPSC Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE)-4 notification has triggered fresh protests from teacher recruitment aspirants in Bihar. A group of candidates, led by student leader Dilip Kumar, has alleged that the recruitment process has been held up after the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) reportedly returned the recruitment requisition due to errors.
The aspirants have warned that they will launch a large-scale protest if the recruitment advertisement is not released within the next few days. BPSC has not publicly announced a timeline for issuing the notification.
What the Aspirants Are Demanding
Addressing the media, student leader Dilip Kumar said announcements regarding TRE-4 had been made over the past two years, but the recruitment advertisement was yet to be published.
He questioned why the requisition submitted to BPSC had been returned and called for vacancies across all subjects to be included in the notification.
According to Kumar, if the advertisement is not issued within four to five days, aspirants will intensify their agitation.
Why Was the Requisition Returned?
According to Dilip Kumar, the BPSC Controller of Examinations informed aspirants that the recruitment requisition had been returned because it contained errors.
However, neither the Commission nor the Education Department has publicly detailed the nature of the alleged errors or confirmed when a revised requisition will be submitted.
The Education Department has also not issued an official response to the allegations made by the student leader at the time of writing.
Remarks on the Education Minister
During his interaction with reporters, Dilip Kumar also criticised Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari over the delay in the recruitment process.
He alleged that the prolonged wait for the notification had created uncertainty among thousands of teacher recruitment aspirants. These remarks reflect the views of the student leader and have not been independently verified.
Comments on BSSC Chairperson Shobha Ahotkar
Dilip Kumar also commented on the appointment of Shobha Ahotkar as the new Chairperson of the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC).
He said the commission had been functioning without a permanent chairperson for some time, affecting its operations. According to Kumar, aspirants had demanded the appointment of a full-time chairperson.
He expressed hope that Ahotkar’s tenure would improve the functioning of the commission, describing her as a strict and honest officer. Kumar also said aspirants intended to meet her and discuss recruitment-related issues.
In addition, he thanked Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary for the appointment, saying he hoped it would strengthen the commission’s functioning. These remarks were made by the student leader and do not represent the position of the government or the commission.
