BR Ambedkar Bihar University Marks Hindu New Year With Cultural Celebrations

Muzaffarpur: BR Ambedkar Bihar University in Muzaffarpur ushered in the Hindu New Year, Vikram Samvat 2082, with a grand celebration on its campus, illuminating the premises with festive lights. The event, aimed at promoting cultural heritage, saw participation from university officials and faculty members.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai extended his best wishes on the occasion, urging the community to uphold traditional values amid the growing influence of Western culture. “Our cultural heritage is our identity, and we must preserve and promote it,” he said. “Chaitra Pratipada reminds us of our rich traditions and values, offering an opportunity to remember and integrate the wisdom of our ancestors into our lives.”
Prof. Rai emphasized the need for future generations to remain connected to their roots, calling it a collective responsibility to safeguard and pass on cultural traditions. He also extended greetings for Chaitra Navratri, a nine-day festival dedicated to Goddess Durga, highlighting its significance in symbolizing the victory of good over evil and celebrating women’s strength and contributions to society.
The university’s initiative was widely appreciated, with key officials, including LS College Principal Prof. Omprakash Roy, Proctor Prof. BS Rai, College Inspector Prof. Rajeev Kumar, Sports Advisor Dr. Sanjay Sinha, and Dr. Navin Kumar, commending the Vice-Chancellor’s efforts in fostering cultural awareness.
