Muzaffarpur: B.R.A. Bihar University is preparing to hold its convocation ceremony on August 25, marking a return to tradition after a six-year hiatus. The event, overseen by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai, aims to celebrate academic achievement while signalling a renewed commitment to institutional excellence.
The ceremony will be attended by two prominent dignitaries: the Governor of Bihar, Arif Mohammad Khan, and the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha. In addition to the convocation, the guests will take part in a symbolic tree-planting event on campus, titled “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”.
Prof. Rai described the convocation as “more than an event; it is a powerful symbol of the university’s commitment to academic distinction, cultural preservation, and a future built on solid foundations of excellence.” His tenure has been marked by a series of initiatives, including the university’s first-ever alumni meet and the revival of a regional sports event after two decades.
The ceremony will see gold medals awarded to university toppers, each engraved with the recipient’s name and the university emblem. Doctoral candidates will receive their Ph.D. degrees, while NCC cadets from three affiliated colleges will perform a Guard of Honour for the visiting dignitaries.
