Patna: The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has extended the application timeline for 69 Filaria Inspector posts in the state Health Department, granting candidates an additional two weeks to complete registration and form submission. The Commission said the decision followed a surge of requests from applicants and technical difficulties reported on the portal.
Under the revised schedule, online registration will remain open until December 15, while the deadline for submitting application forms has been moved to December 18. The recruitment is being conducted through the Second Inter-Level Combined Competitive Examination. The previous deadlines were November 25 for registration and November 28 for form submission.
Of the 69 vacancies, 30 fall under the unreserved category. Reservation will apply only to permanent residents of Bihar, though applicants from other states may compete under the unreserved quota. The minimum educational qualification required is Class 12, and candidates must demonstrate basic typing proficiency in both Hindi and English. The pay scale for the Filaria Inspector role ranges from Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100.
The minimum age for applicants is 18, and the upper limit is 37, with relaxations available for women, BC/EBC groups, SC/ST candidates, and persons with disabilities. The application fee is Rs. 100 and must be paid online.
The selection process comprises a preliminary examination, a main examination, and a skill test. A preliminary exam will be held if more than 40,000 candidates apply. In the event of very high application numbers, the prelims may be conducted in phases; results across phases will be standardised through a normalisation process to ensure fairness.
Applications can be submitted exclusively through the BSSC’s official website. Candidates must read the detailed notification under Advertisement No. 02/23 (A), complete the new registration process, log in, and fill out the form carefully. A recent passport-size photograph, signature, and supporting documents must be uploaded before payment of the fee and final submission.
