Patna: Delhi Public School (DPS), Patna East marked the end of its three-day inter-school sports festival Excelsior 2025 on Friday, bringing together more than 400 students from 13 schools in a celebration of competition, teamwork and performance.
The closing ceremony, held on December 6, opened with a traditional welcome for the Chief Guest and Bihar’s Sports Minister, Shreyasi Singh. She was joined by the school’s pro vice-chairman, Amit Prakash, managing trustee Dr Manish Kumar, trustee Anish Sahu, principal Dr Rakesh Alfred and deputy head Mohammed Ashfaque Iqbal.

Following a formal felicitation, guests were shown a brief presentation of the festival’s highlights. Singh addressed the gathering with an encouraging message to young athletes, after which students staged musical and dance performances that drew enthusiastic applause.
Principal Dr Alfred later commended the students for their participation and discipline. Excelsior 2025, which began on December 4, was described by organisers as the school’s most spirited edition yet, with participants demonstrating “exemplary sportsmanship” across events.
Final-day results
- Football: Trinity Global beat DPS Patna East 5–2 to win the title, with Ashmit Kumar named best player.
- Kabaddi: The Tribhuvan School defeated DPS Patna East 71–58; Adarsh Kumar won best player.
- Volleyball: May Flower School beat Shivam Convent in straight sets; Bharat Kumar was named best player.
- Basketball (boys): Trinity Global defeated DPS Patna East 16–5; Virat Vaibhav won best player.
- Basketball (girls): St Joseph’s, Jethuli beat DPS Patna East 16–8; Elisha Raj took best player.
- Athletics: DPS Patna East won overall, with Litera Valley finishing runners-up.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks and the felicitation of mentors and officials. Singh formally declared the event closed, noting that the festival had showcased not only sporting excellence but also dedication, discipline and creativity among students.
