Patna: IIT Patna is set to host the 14th Inter IIT Tech Meet from December 11 to 14, the first time the annual technology contest will take place in Bihar and the first time it will be organised by a second-generation IIT.
Announcing the event at a press conference on Saturday, T N Singh, director of IIT Patna, said more than 2,000 students from all 23 Indian Institutes of Technology are expected to take part, with around 1,700 delegates participating on campus in Patna for offline showcases, presentations and demonstrations. The inaugural ceremony will be attended by the Bihar governor, Arif Mohammad Khan, who will serve as chief guest.
The Inter IIT Tech Meet is regarded as one of the most significant technological gatherings in the IIT ecosystem, bringing together researchers, innovators and engineering students for collaborative problem-solving and applied research.
This year’s edition will feature 26 events organised in partnership with a range of corporate and institutional sponsors, including Pathway, Arista Networks, Adobe, Drona Aviation, STEMvibe and ISRO VLSI. The theme of the meet, “Resonating Cascades”, aims to explore the ways in which ideas evolve, spread and shape technological progress within academic communities.
Students from disciplines including computer science, electrical, mechanical, civil and chemical engineering, materials science, aerospace and interdisciplinary fields will work on real-world problem statements supplied by government bodies, research organisations and industry partners. These challenges span areas such as artificial intelligence, space systems, sustainability, smart mobility, advanced materials, cybersecurity, healthcare engineering and robotics.
Organisers said the problems are designed to offer practical exposure, strengthening teamwork, prototype development and design-thinking skills, as well as potentially leading to research collaborations and startup initiatives. The campus is preparing specialised technical arenas for demonstrations, evaluations and interactive sessions with scientists, industry leaders and invited dignitaries.
With delegations arriving from across the country, IIT Patna said the institute is ready to deliver one of the largest and most ambitious Inter IIT Tech Meets to date.
