Patna: The Srijan Club, an art and craft society under the Department of Fashion Designing at Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), held its oath-taking ceremony and orientation programme for newly inducted members on Friday.
The event was attended by around 100 students and faculty members. Dr Rakhi Kumari, Principal of the College of Arts and Crafts, served as the guest of honour and encouraged students to pursue creative excellence with discipline and commitment. She spoke about the role of design, craftsmanship and hands-on learning in shaping careers in the fashion industry.

The programme opened with a welcome address by club president Jagriti, who thanked Principal Dr Sister M Rashmi A.C., Vice-Principal Dr Sister M Tanisha A.C. (in absentia), faculty coordinators, the guest of honour and participating students. The ceremony included traditional lamp-lighting, with department head Dr Shemushi Madhu and faculty members including Geetanjali Choudhary, Asha Pandey, Priyanka Singh, Vandna Sinha and Dr Purnima Roy taking part.

The Srijan Club logo was unveiled, symbolising a renewed focus on cultural heritage, creativity and innovation. Coordinator Geetanjali Choudhary outlined the club’s vision, mission and upcoming activities, encouraging students to actively engage in skill-building opportunities.
Secretary Priya anchored the event, which concluded with a vote of thanks. The ceremony was organised by members of the Srijan Club.
