Budco Introduces GPS-Enabled Walkie-Talkies for Real-Time Project Monitoring Across Bihar

Patna: In a bid to enhance the pace and efficiency of urban development schemes, the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (Buidco) will now equip its employees with GPS-enabled walkie-talkies to ensure real-time monitoring and coordination across the state’s 38 districts.

The decision was announced during a review meeting of the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Urban Scheme Phase-II (2025–26), chaired by Budco Managing Director Animesh Kumar Parashar. The move is expected to significantly streamline the execution of projects related to urban infrastructure, water supply, sanitation, and road construction.

Under the new plan, 50 GPS-enabled walkie-talkies will be procured to establish a state-wide communication and tracking network. These devices will allow Budco officials from district offices and headquarters to remain connected in real time, ensuring quicker response and accountability in project implementation.

“All Project Directors must expedite the execution of projects approved by the District Steering Committee and strictly avoid any duplication or negligence in work,” said Managing Director. He further instructed that project site inspections must be conducted personally by the PDs, who will be required to submit a certification of compliance to the headquarters.

Officials from all 38 districts—including Project Directors, Deputy Project Directors, and zone-level staff—were present at the meeting. The MD reiterated that strict monitoring will be enforced, and any lapses in execution will not be tolerated.
