Buxar: A case of alleged hacking of a government server by a young man from Asha Padri under the Simri police station area in Buxar district has come to light, with sources indicating a possible link to the Prime Minister’s Office.
The incident triggered concern among security agencies, following which a joint team of Buxar police and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from Delhi and Patna conducted a late-night raid and arrested the accused.
Confirming the development, superintendent of police Shubham Arya said the matter is “top secret” and declined to share further details at this stage.
Raid and seizure
According to sources, the raid began late on Wednesday night and continued until around 3am. During the operation, officials seized several items, including a laptop, from the residence of the accused, identified as Aman Kumar.
Authorities have taken the young man to an undisclosed location for further questioning. Reports suggest that his house has been sealed as part of the ongoing investigation.
Previous allegations
Sources said the accused had earlier been linked to a hacking case involving Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in 2022. At the time, a police team from Kolkata had taken him into custody, but he was later released as he was a minor.
Officials have not confirmed whether the previous case is directly connected to the current investigation.
Investigation under way
Authorities said further details will be shared once the investigation progresses. Security agencies are continuing to examine digital evidence and possible links to sensitive government systems.
