Chapra: Chapra received a major boost in rail connectivity on Friday as a new train service between the city and Delhi’s Anand Vihar Terminal was formally launched by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.
The inaugural train was flagged off from Chapra Railway Station in the presence of railway officials, public representatives and local residents.
The newly introduced service is expected to benefit passengers from Saran, Siwan, Gopalganj and adjoining districts by providing a direct rail connection to the national capital.
Relief for Daily and Long-Distance Travellers
The train is likely to ease travel for thousands of people who frequently visit Delhi for employment, higher education, business activities and medical treatment.
Residents of the region have long demanded improved rail connectivity with Delhi, one of the most important destinations for migrant workers, students and patients from Bihar.
Centre Focused on Railway Modernisation
Addressing the gathering, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the Centre was continuously working to modernise the railway network and improve passenger amenities across the country.
He said strengthening Bihar’s rail infrastructure, introducing new train services and upgrading railway stations remained among the government’s key priorities.
Better Connectivity to Support Regional Growth
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said the direct train service would provide significant convenience to passengers travelling between Bihar and Delhi.
According to him, improved connectivity would support economic activity and provide easier access to employment, education and healthcare opportunities.
Railway officials also briefed attendees about the facilities available on the new service and its operational features.
Warm Welcome from Passengers
The departure of the inaugural train was greeted with applause and celebrations from passengers and local residents present at the station.
Many described the launch as an important step towards improving transportation infrastructure and strengthening rail connectivity in the region.
