Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) national president and Union minister Chirag Paswan visited the protest site at Gardanibagh to meet students demonstrating over their demands related to the Bihar Public Service Commission’s Teacher Recruitment Examination (BPSC TRE-4).
The protesting students submitted a 15-point memorandum to Paswan, outlining their demands and concerns. Paswan heard the students and assured them that their issues would be taken up seriously.
Paswan Raises Students’ Demands With Chief Minister
Following his meeting with the protesters, Paswan met Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and presented the students’ key demands before him.
He urged the chief minister to consider the demands sensitively and take a decision keeping the interests of the students in mind. Choudhary listened to the concerns and assured that appropriate decisions would be considered, according to the statement.
Dafadars And Chowkidars’ Issues Also Raised
Paswan also raised the demands and grievances of dafadars and chowkidars during his meeting with the chief minister.
The concerns of both the protesting students and the employees were discussed, with the chief minister assuring that the issues would be examined.
Paswan Questions Lathi-charge On Students
Paswan said the use of a lathi-charge against students raising their concerns through democratic means was unjustified.
He said students represent the future of society and the country and their grievances should be heard. He called for resolving such issues through dialogue rather than confrontation.
Calls For Dialogue Between Government And Students
The Union minister said problems can be resolved through discussions and constructive measures. He urged the government to consider what he described as the students’ legitimate demands with sensitivity and work towards maintaining trust among young people.
Paswan also reiterated that the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) would continue to raise issues concerning students, youth and the wider public, particularly those related to employment, education and opportunities for young people.
