Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) chief Chirag Paswan has carried out a major organisational reshuffle, replacing state presidents in several states, including Bihar and Jharkhand, ahead of upcoming elections in eight states.

Surendra Vivek has been appointed the new Bihar state president, replacing Raju Tiwari. Tiwari has been given a new responsibility as a general secretary in the party’s National Executive Committee.

Vivek has previously contested the Bihar Assembly election twice as the LJP (Ramvilas) candidate from the Sahebpur Kamal constituency in Begusarai. He belongs to the Bhumihar community and has earlier served as the party’s state spokesperson and state treasurer.

He is also known as a social activist in Begusarai. The party had previously entrusted him with the responsibility of leading its Bihar election campaign.

Youth and grassroots workers get representation

The newly constituted executive committee has given special representation to youth, women and grassroots-level party workers.

The party said the new appointments recognise workers who have contributed consistently to strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level.

Chirag Paswan has been appointed national president as well as chairman of the Central Parliamentary Board. Lalit Kumar Gautam, Harmeet Singh and advocate Sardar Tara Singh have been named permanent invitee members.

Manishankar Pandey, Mohammad Shamim M. Hawa, Virendra Pradhan, Kunwar Asim Khan, Dr Satyanand Sharma and Dr Kamla Kumari have been appointed national vice-presidents.

Along with Bihar, the party has announced changes in several state and Union Territory units.

The new state presidents include G. Nagendran for Andaman and Nicobar, Satyanarayana Chandolu for Andhra Pradesh, Ahmed Ali Ayyubi for Assam, Sharat Chand Pandey for Chhattisgarh, Pranab Kumar for Delhi on an interim basis, Rajan Solanki for Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, and Ashish Kumar Patel for Gujarat.

Praveen Sabarwal has been appointed in Haryana, Nitin Chauhan in Himachal Pradesh, Rafiq Malik in Jammu and Kashmir, Janardan Paswan in Jharkhand, M.S. Jagannath in Karnataka, Arun K.V. in Kerala, Abdul Khalik in Madhya Pradesh on an interim basis, Pramod Manohar Kudale in Maharashtra and Khoiram Deepu Singh in Manipur.

Four Bihar MPs in national executive

Four MPs from Bihar have also been included in the new National Executive Committee. They are Jamui MP Arun Bharti, Vaishali MP Veena Devi, Samastipur MP Shambhavi Choudhary and Khagaria MP Rajesh Verma.

The party has also accommodated several Bihar MLAs and MLCs in its national organisational structure.

Dr Sukhato A. Sema and Naiba Konyak from Nagaland, along with Janardan Paswan from Jharkhand, have also been included in the executive committee.

Chirag: Positions come with responsibility

After announcing the new executive committee, Chirag Paswan congratulated the newly appointed office-bearers.

He said, “Any position held within the organisation is not merely a title, but a significant responsibility.”

The organisational changes come ahead of elections in eight states and are aimed at strengthening the party’s structure at both the state and national levels.
