Patna: Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP), CIMP Centre for CSR & ESG Studies Foundation and United Nations Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices, responsible business conduct and sustainability leadership in India.
The three-year partnership will establish a framework for joint programmes aimed at strengthening ESG capabilities among corporate leaders, sustainability professionals, MSMEs and supply-chain stakeholders.
Executive Programme On ESG And BRSR
Under the MoU, the institutions will jointly design and deliver an executive education programme titled “ESG Leadership & BRSR Readiness”.
The programme will focus on ESG governance, Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR) compliance readiness, assurance preparedness and sustainability capabilities across value chains.
CIMP Director Rana Singh said academic institutions have an important role in shaping responsible business practices and that the collaboration would combine academic frameworks with industry-led insights.
The programme is intended to help corporate leaders, MSMEs and professionals integrate sustainability into business strategies, the institute said.
Focus On Capacity Building And Youth Development
The partnership will cover executive education, curriculum development, practitioner-led learning and industry engagement.
The three institutions will also organise masterclasses, workshops, case studies, knowledge reports and policy dialogues for corporates, MSMEs, suppliers and value-chain partners.
Youth development will form another part of the collaboration, with planned initiatives including student engagement, internships, fellowships, innovation challenges and leadership programmes.
The institutions will also undertake collaborative research and publications aimed at connecting academic knowledge with industry practices.
Roles Of Partner Institutions
CIMP and CIMP Foundation will provide academic leadership, faculty expertise, programme design and learning resources under the partnership.
UN GCNI will contribute expertise in ESG, BRSR and United Nations Global Compact principles. It will also facilitate engagement with industry leaders, policymakers and sustainability practitioners.
CIMP Chief Administrative Officer Kumod Kumar said the partnership aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical business requirements while strengthening sustainability capabilities among businesses and MSMEs.
The institutions said the collaboration is expected to strengthen ESG practices and promote responsible and sustainable business across India’s corporate and MSME sectors.
