Patna: A cleanliness awareness campaign was conducted at Patna Women’s College under the initiative of the Patna Municipal Corporation’s sanitation awareness team. The campaign, which included cultural performances, aimed to encourage students to participate in the cleanliness survey and improve Patna’s ranking. Patna Municipal Corporation’s brand ambassador, Neetu Kumari Navgeet, used folk songs to spread the message of cleanliness, urging students to take an active role in keeping the city clean.

The event was inaugurated by Alok John, Dean of National and International Collaboration at Patna Women’s College, along with Sumeet Ranjan, Secretary of the Eco Task Force and Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology, Sister Luvina A.C., Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology, and folk singer Rajesh Keshari. Speakers at the event emphasized that cleanliness should not be confined to homes but must also extend to educational institutions and public spaces. They highlighted the role of the Patna Municipal Corporation in ensuring proper waste management through door-to-door garbage collection and waste segregation.

Neetu Navgeet encouraged students to take responsibility for maintaining cleanliness, stressing that a nation’s greatness lies in the clean habits of its citizens. She urged everyone to contribute to keeping Patna clean, as a clean city leads to a brighter future for the entire nation.

The awareness campaign featured lively musical performances, with students singing cleanliness-themed songs. Rajesh Keshari played the harmonium, while Vishwanath Pandey on the nal and Chandan Ugna on the khanjari accompanied Neetu Navgeet’s folk performance, creating an engaging atmosphere.

As part of the initiative, all college students scanned a QR code on their mobile phones to participate in the Swachh Survekshan 2024 survey, reinforcing their commitment to the city’s cleanliness mission.
