Patna: The festival of Diwali was celebrated across Bihar with immense enthusiasm and traditional grandeur this year, transforming markets, streets, and homes with the illumination of countless lamps.
In the capital, Patna, the celebratory glow was palpable, but the observance at the Chief Minister’s official residence, 1 Aney Marg, struck a note of traditional simplicity. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar chose a modest and culturally rooted approach to mark the auspicious occasion.
A Traditional Illumination

The entire residence complex was meticulously decorated exclusively with earthen lamps (diyas) and soft festive lights, creating an atmosphere of warmth and piety. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar personally inaugurated the celebrations by lighting the lamps at various locations across the residence.
He was joined by his son, Nishant Kumar, who participated in the ceremony, sharing the joy of the festival with his family. Furthermore, many government employees posted at the complex were included in the celebrations, where sweets and festive greetings were exchanged, ensuring a palpable atmosphere of camaraderie and goodwill.
