Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Friday launched the Samriddhi Yatra-2026 from West Champaran, using the occasion to review industrial projects and reaffirm the state government’s push to expand manufacturing and employment in the region.
During a visit to the industrial area at Kumarbagh in Chanpatia block, the chief minister inspected the under-construction Vardhan compressed biogas (CBG) plant, which officials said would become operational shortly. He also reviewed progress at the Special Economic Zone and other units under development, unveiling the foundation stone for a primary processing centre and laying the foundation for a working women’s hostel.
CM Nitish examined products displayed by entrepreneurs supported under the state’s Chief Minister’s Entrepreneurship Scheme, including food items, garments, fly ash bricks and luxury bath products. He questioned business owners on manufacturing processes, quality standards and profitability.
Praising the pace of work, the chief minister said the industrial units in Kumarbagh were “well-established” and pledged continued government support. “We want everyone to progress and expand their businesses,” he said, adding that a range of incentives were in place to attract investors and create a favourable industrial climate. Officials said the clustering of units had begun generating jobs for local youth, accelerating social and economic development and positioning Kumarbagh as an emerging industrial hub.
The chief minister also interacted with members of Jeevika self-help groups and beneficiaries of state welfare schemes, who credited the initiatives with improving household incomes and livelihoods.
Deputy chief ministers and senior ministers, along with MPs, MLAs and top administrative and police officials, accompanied CM during the tour, underscoring the government’s emphasis on monitoring project delivery as the Samriddhi Yatra moves across the state.
